I know with blogs people should technically chose a central theme to follow, but meh, this is mine..I'll do what I want. Mostly short story fragments, occasional poems, cool pics/stuff reblogged from others, zombies, and my own rants about myself and life. I might even throw in the occasional biographical article about some of my favorite authors. I like to write although it is obvious I rarely finish what I start. I like to think it is because my hands can't keep up with my ideas, but in all actuality it is just a bad case of A.D.D. Oh did, I mention I have a thing for zombies?!?
CISPA Update of the Day: CISPA, the Cyber Information Sharing and Protection Act that passed the House in April, likely is headed for a Senate vote in early June.
To drum up opposition to the legislation, which would create “a ‘cybersecurity’ exemption to all existing laws,” Fight for the Future, Democrats.com, The Liberty Coalition, and the Entertainment Consumers Association have created a new website called Privacy Is Awesome. The site outlines the top five ways to help defeat CISPA:
- Call your senators and tell them to oppose the Lieberman-Collins bill (CISPA), and ask for a constituent meeting during the Memorial Day recess to help change their mind.
- Email senators offices about CISPA, expressing your opposition.
- Keep calling senators until they plan a constituent meeting.
- Donate to anti-CISPA organizers — the same teams that helped defeat SOPA/PIPA.
- Share your opposition online — Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Meanwhile, Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., is spearheading opposition to the legislation, concluding a recent Senate floor speech with:
I believe these bills will encourage the development of a cyber security industry that profits from fear and whose currency is Americans private data. These bills create a Cyber Industrial Complex that has an interest in preserving the problem to which it is the solution.

Random Rambling and Ranting
I have a huge girl crush on Felicia Day. Whenever I watch her on anything, it makes me want to start a video blog. My problem is I am totally inarticulate, not very funny, and extremely self-conscious! I have tried writing out a brief summary of what I want to say, writing exactly what I want to say and even just winging it…when the recording starts I’m immediately blank eyed and drooling like Patrick Star on Spongebob. I’m not quite willing to give up the thought of video blogging, but yeah, it isn’t looking good that I will ever do it. Oh, and another thing, I absolutely cannot stand the sound of my own voice. I sound like a tween and I have a horrendous country twang. The product of growing up in southeast Missouri and going to college in Kentucky. In my head, I have this sexy southern drawl like my Aunt’s voice from Alabama. It is so sad how the perception in my head is at direct odds with reality. In my head, I’m also physically able to still do martial arts for hours, work 10 hours, clean house, and then dance all night all in a single 24 hour period. In reality, I’m lucky if I can get the dishes done and manage 2 hours at work. *Sigh* It is crazy how much this genetic malformation takes from you when it decides to kick in. I know I am lucky that I was in my late twenties that I hit ‘my ehlers-danlos wall’ instead of earlier, but heck that is still young and mentally I’m still eighteen!

Okay, so I both love and hate this. I love it because it is so insanely intricate, but I hate it because the book was destroyed in making it. My love of books borders on a religious fervor which extends even to books that contain stories that I dislike or have never read! I’m sure the artists pick books that are already destroyed, but my heart kind of aches to see these type sculptures. On the other hand, they are gorgeous. I would probably own one if I could…the love outweighs the hate. *shrug*Paper sculpture

I ordered some air-dry clay over the internet and ended up with a kilo of clay! Oops. After making as many charms as I could (I will do a DIY, I promise!) I have about 700gms left. So when I saw this I thought - perfect! These are so adorable, it’s something I would expect to find in one of those little boutique flower stores!
